last week i had the amazing opportunity to help out at feetfirst + blogshop, hosted by our labor of love, max wanger, bri emery, and angela kohler. it was such an eye-opening experience and i had a great time meeting the photographers as well as bloggers that i’ve long admired. everyone was so warm, open, and honest about their journey getting to where they are, and it really challenged me to remember why i’m doing this and to define who i want to be. i’m really excited to take my work to the next level.
here’s a peek at their beautiful studio in atwater where the workshop was held (steph pointed out to me that it was featured on apartment therapy)!

the lovely alison and zach did a great job modeling for us.

throughout the three days, we were so fortunate to have our lunches catered by heirloom. i’d been wanting to try their food for awhile since their lasagna cupcakes are all the rage in LA. on friday they brought out their newly constructed taco stand to serve gourmet pasta. the verdict? definitely the best catering i’ve ever had. i’m already coming up with excuses to host a party just so i can have those lasagna cupcakes again!

huge thanks to bri for giving me this opportunity, and margaux for being the all-around sweetest person to work with!

hi guys!
guess what. i’m back. i can’t believe the last time i posted was six months ago, SO SORRY about that! i might as well have dropped off the face of the earth.
well, it’d be a bit overwhelming to give a full update on what’s been going on in my life, but suffice it to say that a lot has changed in the last year that i’ve been absent. i’m still shooting weddings (so let me know if you’re getting married!), but i’ve also since co-founded an e-commerce startup in china, where i’m living for part of the year. i’ve also been traveling a ton, brushing up on code & design, and writing for a great new lifestyle blog. in the next months, you should expect to see more posts across a wider range of topics as i share the things i’m seeing and learning, in photography, travel, design, entrepreneurship… and of course, i have tons of weddings & shoots to catch up on.
today i want to share a shoot i did awhile back with vicky, jonah, and their beautiful baby boy, hudson. i met vicky through her sister nancy, who’s one of my closest friends and most fervent supporter, when i first started shooting. vicky and jonah trusted me to do their engagement shoot back when i had no idea what i was doing, so i’m ever grateful for those first few opportunities i had. it feels really nice to come full circle. :)
